Your Stay

Solitude

We have a small, green cottage, along with a little chapel, where you can come, relax, and draw close to our Father.  As a pastor, evangelist or missionary, it is important to make time to get alone, to find a place of solitude and seek Him with all that is within you.  If you are needing a place to get away for a few days, this may be the place for you.

Family

We also understand the importance of coming together, either as a couple, or as a family, and this can be a wonderful place for that, too.  You may come alone, or with your wife, or with your children (limit 3 children due to space in the cottage).  The cottage only has one bedroom, but we can set up additional cots in the living room area for your children (like a fun sleepover!).

Fellowship

If there are any issues that you are going through, or if you just need to talk to another man of Christ, Jeff is available during your stay to meet with you, with Bible in hand, for everything should be backed by and grounded on His ways.  And everything said will be confidential.

The Little Cottage

Sitting behind our main house lies a cute little green cottage, ready for you to come and rest.  It's not huge, and it's not fancy, but we've tried to make it nice for you.  The Cottage has a living room, dining area, kitchen, one bedroom, a bathroom and a washer and drier.  Thankfully, there is NO TV.   We try to keep the Cottage stocked with basic necessities for you to use (There are things like pots and pans, flour, sugar, coffee to brew, dish soap, bathroom soap, extra tooth brushes, laundry detergent and towels).  Even though we are located only 1 mile from the Village of Pinehurst, this is truly a get-away.  There is only one bedroom, but if a pastor would like to bring his family with him (3 children max.), we can set up some cots in the living room area.

The Chapel

Just down the path from the Cottage, the Chapel is yet another place to get alone with the Father, away from the thoughts and distractions of this world.   The Chapel does not have heat or air conditioning, so, depending on the time of year, you may prefer to go in there late evenings or early mornings.

The Grounds

Although we only have 2+ acres, it feels incredibly private.  Most of our land is in the back of our home, with no other homes in sight.  This first image is a view from the main house, looking out at the back yard.  You can see the green cottage in the background, to the left.

We have several bicycles, sizes children through adult.  Just across the street from the main house is a dirt/gravel pathway that leads all the way into the quaint Village of Pinehurst.  It is a 1.1 mile bike ride or walk.

We also have a firepit, outdoor picnic areas, and a field that is great for soccer, kickball, and other fun games for children.

Just behind the Cottage are railroad tracks.  There is no set schedule and the freight train comes by the Cottage, on average, two times a day.  Sometimes it comes in the middle of the night and other times during the day.  The Cottage vibrates when the train goes by, and sometimes the train blows its whistle, especially if it is headed in the direction of the Village.  Some folks may not enjoy the train, but we find it endearing.
